But although the party was participating in the national NDA-government, Vaiko was arrested for 19 months under the Prevention Of Terrorism Act . Since the 2004 Lok Sabha Elections the party is a member of the broad Tamil alliance, the Democratic Progressive Alliance , together with Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam , Indian National Congress , Pattali Makkal Katchi , Communist Party Of India , Communist Party Of India (Marxist) and Indian Union Muslim League . |
