Information About

Martha Moxley

Martha and her family moved to Greenwich, Connecticut from Piedmont, CA in the summer of 1974 and was murdered just fifteen months later on October 30 , 1975 . She was killed with a 6-iron Golf Club that belonged to the Moxley's neighbors, the Rushton Skakel family. Martha's murder remained unsolved until 2000 when, after a lengthy Grand Jury investigation, Michael Skakel , a nephew of Ethel Skakel Kennedy , was charged with her murder. On June 7 , 2002 , a jury in Norwalk Connecticut convicted Michael Skakel for the murder of Martha Moxley.

Michael Skakel is currently serving a sentence of twenty years to life in prison. In January of 2006, his appeals to the Connecticut Supreme Court were all rejected. In March of 2006, his lawyer's request for reconsideration before the Connecticut Supreme Court was also rejected. His lawyers have indicated that they will request to be heard before the U.S. Supreme Court.
