Marseille Provence Airport has been managed since 1934 by the Marseille Provence Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI). It is the 3rd French Airport (excluding Paris) for passenger traffic and 2nd for cargo traffic.

There are two terminals, an international and national terminal. They are walking distance from one another. The airport is located on the territory of the Commune of Marignane , in the Bouches-du-Rhône '' Département '' (so the airport is often called "Marignane").
