At the age of 15, Tulio moved to Japan to complete his high school studies. He graduated from Shibuya Makuhari high school in Chiba Prefecture . In 2001, Tanaka joined the J.League football team, Sanfrecce Hiroshima . When the Sanfrecce team was demoted to J2 in 2002, the rental transfer was carried out 2003 at the same Mito Hollyhock of J2 from a possibility of touching the possession frame of the foreign player of being to three persons per team, and it became the driving force of higher rank advance of a team. On October 10 , 2003 , Tulio obtained his Japanese citizenship and changed his name to Torio Tanaka (田中トゥーリオ ''Tanaka Tōrio''). He was part of the Japanese 2004 Olympic football team, which exited in the first round, having finished fourth in group B, below group winners Paraguay , Italy and Ghana . CLUBS
