Marcel Achard ( July 5 , 1899 – September 4 , 1974 ) is the pseudonym of Marcel-Augustin Ferréol, a French Playwright and Author . He was born in Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon in the Rhône Département , in France . Achard wrote the play L'Idiot which was adapted for Broadway as ''A Shot In the Dark''. After further adaption it became a Hollywood Movie .
