The label went from a stand alone company to being a part of Atlantic Records in 1993 . That relationship soured (reportedly due to president Jay Faires ) and the label hit the open market again in 1997 . The label was purchased by The Walt Disney Company in 1998 . Faires left in 1999 along with most of the entire staff and the label was re-built with new president Rob Seiendberg . In 2003 Disney closed up shop at Mammoth Records and folded the company into Hollywood Records . SEE ALSO |
