.]] Malin Head, in County Donegal , Republic Of Ireland , is the northernmost point of Ireland . It is on the Inishowen Peninsula , the land mass which sits between Lough Swilly and Lough Foyle . It is also the location of a Meteorological Service Weather Monitoring Station . Storm Force 12 winds are recorded at the station during most years. The highest measured gust to date is 98 Knots , recorded on 16 September 1961 when the remnants of " Hurricane Debbie " swept up along the west coast of Ireland causing widespread damage. SEE ALSO |
