As of 2003 , the town had an estimated Population of 6,230 and a Density of 79.53 persons per Km² . The total area was 78.34 km². The town was dissolved upon the formation of a new city on Jan. 1, 2005 called Takashima with the merging of Adogawa , Imazu , Kutsuki (village), Makino , Shinasahi , and Takashima towns.
