''Maelor Saesneg'' ( of the Traditional County of Flintshire . Its administrative centre was in Overton and it included the villages of Bangor Is Y Coed, Bettisfield, Bronington, Hanmer, Knolton, Penley, Tybroughton, Willington and Worthenbury. Since 1974 the traditional county has not been reflected in the structure of local government (see the article on Counties Of Wales ); the area is currently administered by the County Borough of Wrexham . To the west, across the River Dee , lies another area known as '' Maelor Gymraeg '', meaning "Welsh-speaking Maelor". This area is part of the traditional county of Denbighshire .
