''Maayan'' ("Spring {Link without Title} water", or "fountain"; in i magazine for poetry, literature, art, and ideas. It's first issue went out in the fall of 2004.

The editors of ''Maayan'' are Roy Arad and Joshua Simon . Its publisher is the Free Academy .

The magazine includes poetry and art from Israel (Jewish and Arab) and all over the world, mostly by young creators. Including: Zvi Elhyani, Zhiye Kundos, Maayan Strauss , Rinat Berckovitch, Aharon Shabtai, Nimrod Kamer , Dan Daor, Vaan Nguyen , Dan Shadur and Gil Shani.

It's motto is: "Maayan is a home for new poetry". In it's first issue's editor note the following sentences appear: ''"Maayan is a display window to new poetry. It is modern, in the same sense that car magazines to revel in vehicles with special new gadgets, an extra gear, or a mechanism that can reduce pollution. It is electric poetry. Maayan's poetics lustfully suck and incorporate any linguistic register and layer... The poets of Maayan relish the characteristics of The Middle East. They are taking their heads out of the car window, shouting at the wind. Consumed with desire, they take in the smell of exhaust-fumes."''.

The second issue of Maayan, that was released in December of 2005, was twice as big, and included an addition: an extra magazine folded in side for cinema, called Maarvon . Maarvon today is the only local film magazine in Israel.
