The first team, formerly the Anaheim Amigos , played from 1968 to 1970 , when it moved to Salt Lake City , Utah in the fall of 1970 and became the Utah Stars . The second team bearing the name Los Angeles Stars began play in the fall of 2000 , and played in the Great Western Forum in Inglewood , California . The team only played in the 2000 - 2001 ABA season. The third team bearing the name Los Angeles Stars began play in the fall of 2003 . In 2005 , the Stars became only the second professional men's basketball team in history to be coached by a woman, Delisha Milton-Jones of the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks . In the 2005-2006 season the Los Angeles Stars were renamed the Los Angeles Aftershock under new ownership. EXTERNAL LINKS |
