Information About

Lord's Taverners

The Lord's Taverners is an English Charity dedicated to the promotion of Cricket among young people. The name of the organization derives from its origins; in 1950 , a group of cricket-loving actors who regularly met at the Tavern pub in Lord's to enjoy the day's cricket founded the Taverners club. The club's roster of present and former members is a veritable Who's Who of the English social and cultural scene.

These days, it is an officially accredited charity organization that raises funds to promote improved sports facilities and greater participation among young people, particularly those with disabilities or special needs. The Taverners also administers the " Brian Johnston Memorial Trust ".
