Łódź Voivodship (1) ( created January 1 , 1999 , out of the former Łódź (2), Sieradz , Piotrków Trybunalski , Skierniewice and part of Płock voivodships, pursuant to the Local Government Reorganization Act of 1998. The voivodship's name recalls that of the region's largest city, Łódź . The population of the voivodship is 2,597,000, with a density of 145.5 person/km&2.
