Loblaws was known in the United States primarily for its ''National Supermarkets'' chain that operated in Missouri, Illinois and Louisiana. Originally purchased from the ''National Tea Company'', National Supermarkets were a major supermarket chain in the St. Louis, Missouri area until the 1995 sellout to Schnucks Markets. The largest Loblaws in Canada is located in the Barrhaven community of Ottawa, Ontario. Other banners within the National Grocers family:
