Liverpool John Moores University is a university in Liverpool , United Kingdom . It is named after John Moores and was previously called Liverpool Polytechnic . It is not to be confused with the University Of Liverpool or Liverpool Hope University , which are separate institutions also based in Liverpool.

Based primarily on three campuses, the university has over 24,000 {Link without Title} students including a large number of foreign students. These students are represented by the Liverpool Students' Union . This has a magazine called ''Havoc'' and a radio station called Shout FM.

Recently the John Moores Alumni Association created an Alumni Board and an Alumni Business Network Group.

Phil Redmond is Honorary Professor of Media Studies .
