- 1E49963 (California) - Appears on the limo escorting John McClane to Nakatomi Tower from the airport in '' Die Hard .'' Hilariously enough, the front plate appears to be "2UV8356," completely different from the back plate. The back plate is a valid commercial series; the front plate is valid ''trailer'' series, making it invalid on the SUV.
- 4Z658T2 (California) - Seen on an armored car driven by bad guys near the beginning of ''Lethal Weapon 3.'' This plate is an invalid commercial license plate because of the T in the second-to-last spot.
- 51-IS (United Kingdom) - on Paul McCartney 's '' Paul Is Live '' album, as a reference to the "LMW 281F" license plate on a car on the cover of the Beatles album Abbey Road .
- 543 SML (California) - On a car seen in traffic in ''Speed.''
- 56E-478 (Hawaii) - on the red Ferrari driven by Magnum PI in the 1980s TV series. This License Plate ONLY appeared in the 2 pilot episodes, and was actually changed to "ROBIN 1" when the credits rolled at the end of the second episode.
- 573D107 (United Kingdom) - Diplomatic plate on the black Mercedes sedan in the start of '' A Fish Called Wanda ''. This is not a legal plate because in Britain, the numbers on the diplomatic plates (here 573 and 107) are coded, and 573 and 107 are not in that code.
- 6-0755 (District of Columbia) - On Wadsworth's car in the beginning of Clue . If you zoom in on the DVD you can just make out the words along the top of the plate.
