  • "D.I.J." - A mouse whom Claire frees from a locker inside of the Antarctic base before encountering Nosferatu inside his holding cell. He is only given significance via a note file that can be found in the optional 'Battle Mode'. The fact that this file (which details D.I.J.'s encounters with Claire Refield and Albert Wesker throughout the game) exists at all lends itself to humorous speculation and rumor that D.I.J. actually has more significance than would seem the case.

Resident Evil 4

  • Ingrid Hunnigan

  • The Merchant - An unnamed arms dealer with an Australian accent who provides Leon with all sorts of weapons and equipment in exchange for pesetas (currency used in the region) and treasures. He never references Leon by name (or Ada during Separate Ways), only by "Stranger". He does not sell ammunition, however he reloads Leon's weapons for free with each capacity upgrade. He will provide some commentary on certain weapons in the inventory that Leon is considering purchasing (When the player selects the Matilda handgun, he makes a comment about the three-shot burst capability). His selling locations are identified by a torch with a blue-colored flame. It is obvious that he's infected with a Plaga parasite (his eyes are yellow and glow red in the dark) and it is unknown how he resists its effects. It has also been said that there are multiple merchants because in some areas he is infected and in others he is a normal human.

  • Mike - A helicopter pilot who provides last minute backup to Leon when he reaches the Commando Base on Saddler's Island. Only his hand holding the cyclic is shown. He guns down several Ganados and blows up a few buildings to clear the path for Leon. However, when Leon reaches the Temple's Entrance, his helicopter is shot down by a Ganado wielding a RPG , taking Mike with it.

  • The Two Policemen - Two local policemen escort Leon to the village. The two are recognized by their facial features, as one has sunglasses, and the other does not. During the trip there, they offer small talk to Leon, but not much else, aside from cigarettes. They ridicule him, though one does say he sympathizes with him for being so far from home, and they guard the van that the trio came in (did'nt want to get any parking tickets) while Leon investigates a house. He encounters a Ganado in here and during his battle with him, a truck full of the same beings attacks the van that the three came in, also destroying the bridge. Later, one of the cops is found in the village, impaled. Later, Leon sees the one with glasses being placed into a lake by ganado in a boat, and he is unconscious. It soon becomes apparent that he is a meal for Del Lago , and he is swallowed whole by the acquatic beast.

CHARACTERS FROM A SINGLE GAME (SIDE GAMES)

Resident Evil Gaiden

  • Lucia - An orphaned girl and perhaps the only surviving passenger of the ocean cruiser, Starlight . Little is known about Lucia apart from the fact that she was adopted into an orphanage about two years ago. Unbeknownst to her, in an experiment by Umbrella Corporation, her body was injected at that time with a parasite that would take over two years to fully mature. In the meantime, the parasite heightened Lucia's senses and allowed her heal from wounds quickly. Because of these seemingly unnatural abilities, Lucia was ostracized as a child by the other children around her. Finally, Lucia's foster parents decided to send Lucia to live with relatives in Europe, where she could hopefully get a new start in life.

  • The Captain - The captain of a submarine whose crew is sent by the Umbrella Corporation to retrieve Lucia for scientific study.

  • The Amoeba B.O.W. (Bio-Organic Weapon) - Tyrant-like monster that causes the T-Virus outbreak on the Starlight. This monster has the ablity to produce tentacles from his abdomen and transform into an amoeba.

  • The Parasite B.O.W. (Bio-Organic Weapon) - Hunter-like monster extracted from Lucia's body. This monster has many abilities, including taking on a human form and speaking a human language. However, unlike humans, its blood is green.

Resident Evil: Survivor

  • Ark Thompson - A detective sent by Leon S. Kennedy to investigate the Umbrella Corporation's activities on Sheena Island, a private community owned and run by the company. After he is struck with amnesia in a helicopter crash, Ark finds himself investigating a city now crawling with the undead whilst attempting to gather information regarding his identity.

  • Vincent Goldman - The commander-in-chief of Sheena Island. Vincent is responsible not only for Sheena Island's daily operations, but also for some of Umbrella's "dirty businesses", such as the acquisition of suitable experimental subjects, notably children who would be forcibly operated upon without the use of anesthetic, making him a very cruel man. Paranoid, suspicious and a bit insane, Vincent caused the T-Virus outbreak on Sheena Island when his employees threatened to cast him down for his crimes. It is revealed that Ark posed as Vincent in order to gain access to secret documents to help incriminate him.

  • Lott & Lily Klein - Respectively, the son and daughter of two of Umbrella's researchers residing on Sheena Island. After their parents are infected when Goldman releases the T-Virus across the city, Lott becomes extremely protective of his younger sister, defending her from the zombie infestation with the impromptu weapon of a baseball bat. Prior to the Sheena Island crisis, Lott served as an informant for Vincent Goldman, and as such is the only living person on the island (aside from Vincent himself) who knows of Ark's true identity. Later, Lott assists Ark in uncovering his identity, and the three manage to escape Sheena Island together.

  • Andy Holland - An underground supervisor for the Umbrella Corporation on Sheena Island. Although a good man at heart, he later develops an irrational hatred towards Vincent Goldman during the Sheena Island crisis. This leads him to attack Ark due to the irony of his facade as Vincent working too well.

  • UT Commander - The leader of the Umbrella Trashsweepers (colloquially known as the "UnderTakers" or "Cleaners"), a team sent by the Umbrella Corporation to destroy any and all evidence of the T-Virus incident on Sheena Island, as well as eliminating all witnesses to the event. Although not members of the same unit, the Cleaners bear a strong resemblance to HUNK , wearing black chemical suits and gas masks. Strangely, when they die, Cleaners dissolve into a mist. Taking into account their unique operational situations, this is perhaps a side effect of possible testing or research the Cleaners have undergone to increase their efficiency in combat or resistance to viral agents.

Resident Evil: Dead Aim

  • Bruce McGivern - A member of US-STRATCOM, an American government agency whose goal is the investigation and shutdown of the Umbrella Corporation. Although seen as reckless by his peers, Bruce has a strong sense of justice and is willing to die for his ideals.

  • Fong Ling - A covert Chinese government operative. When her parents died shortly after she was born, Fong Ling was raised by the Chinese government. As an agent, she even tracked down and arrested her older brother, a democratic activist and a "traitor" of China. He was executed a day later, but Fong Ling's loyalties never flinched. A patriot at heart, Fong Ling will not hear a bad word spoken about the government she works for.

  • Morpheus D. Duvall - A former researcher for Umbrella Corporation with an obsession for beauty. Years ago, Morpheus was blamed and fired for the Spencer Mansion incident. Later, Morpheus stole several T-virus samples from Umbrella's Paris laboratory, intending to use them to hold the world for ransom. To this end, he hijacks the Umbrella-owned ocean cruiser, the Spencer Rain, from which he plans to launch T-virus warheads if his demands are not met.

Resident Evil Outbreak Files #1 & 2

Main characters

  • Kevin Ryman - An R.P.D. officer, Kevin is based from the same central precinct as the legendary S.T.A.R.S. unit. Although an expert marksman, Kevin always finds himself runner-up to either Chris Redfield or Forest Speyer in local shooting tournaments. Being an eternal optimist, he figures his time will eventually come. Kevin has failed the S.T.A.R.S. selection process twice, due to his slacking nature and carefree attitude, although he is highly qualified for the job in every other regard. He is athletic, good with firearms and an avid car lover. J's Bar is Kevin's favourite haunt, having amassed a hefty tab over the years, his name is on the blacklist until he decides to pay off his debts. Kevin is also a hopeless darts player, and has lost a small fortune trying to beat his far more skilled opponents over and over again, perhaps giving some insight into his irresponsible personality.

  • Mark Wilkins - A veteran of the Vietnam War, Mark works as a security guard. Although over fifty years old, he still retains the robust strength of his youth and can swing a heavy-hitting pipe harder than any other member of the group. Having experienced the horrors and atrocities of war, Mark has a side of his personality that is mentally fragile, and understands the importance of every moment in life. Because of this, Mark focuses much of his time and effort on his family and friends, and is always looking for new ways to connect with his children and wife. Mark likes to learn, and intends to try everything from gardening to cooking as a means of improving himself as he nears retirement.

  • Jim Chapman - A subway employee with a keen sense of intuition and a talent for problem-solving. While Jim is a friendly and cheerful person, he can also be very cowardly and will complain constantly when nervous or angry. Although he means no harm, Jim's personality tends to frustrate and annoy those around him. He is a highly intelligent person who enjoys nothing more than sitting down to a difficult crossword puzzle or other thought-provoking challenge to pass the time, although his manner of speech and choice of clothing gives others the first-impression he was raised in a rough environment.

  • George Hamilton - One of Raccoon City's finest surgeons, George works at Raccoon General Hospital. Although he is not a person who likes to take the lead under pressure, he has a cooperative, open-minded spirit and the ability to naturally acquire the trust of others. He has a keen interest in the collection of rare and unique Watches and a reputation for being a sharp dresser. Although George lives in relative luxury due to his highly demanding occupation, he has a naturally active lifestyle, and feels much more relaxed when camping or rowing.

  • David King - A plumber rumored to have a violent past. Brooding, taciturn and a man of few words, David can be short-tempered and vulgar at times, but is not an unfriendly person. David values strength, favouring masculine clothing and items, although it is unknown if he has any hobbies or particular interests. David possesses sharp eyesight and quick reflexes, his ability to create deadly and efficient weapons from even the most useless of household items makes him a valuable ally. He is very proficient with knives.

  • Alyssa Ashcroft - A journalist employed by one of Raccoon City's local newspapers. Alyssa has a driving need to collect every bit of information and is never afraid to speak her mind or do what it takes to get the scoop. While she is known to be pushy, argumentative and a sore loser, she is always ready to help those in need and can be relied upon even in the most dire of situations. Alyssa is also a colleague of reporter Ben Bertolucci, although the two barely know each other as little more than professional rivals.

  • Yoko Suzuki - A mysterious young woman, Yoko claims to be a student of Raccoon City's prestigious local university. An expert with computers, Yoko is a very quiet and reserved person, although she is prone to bouts of uncharacteristic bravery when it is needed the most. She has a highly inquisitive mind and, once focused on something, will relentlessly pursue her goal until it is achieved. There are rumors that link Yoko to the Umbrella Corporation, although she has effectively erased that part of her memory possibly due to a traumatic event or situation, she has been recognised by several of Umbrella's researchers. This is later proven to be the case when Yoko finally remembers her past as a former researcher for Umbrella. After escaping from Raccoon City, Yoko testifies against the Umbrella Corporation in the Supreme Court, exposing its inhuman atrocities and sealing the fate of the company for good.

  • Cindy Lennox - A waitress at J's Bar. She is a natural beauty with bright blonde hair and a smile to match, Cindy is loved by all around her due to her kind, cheerful attitude and lovable nature. Always putting priority on those around her before her own interests, Cindy can retain her able personality even in the face of the most dire situations. A loyal friend with a protective personality, Cindy will not hesitate to come to the aid of a person in danger. Cindy's hobbies include collecting clothing and small trinkets that she finds cute and adorable. She is also fascinated by Raccoon's famous herbs that grow in the woods of the Arklay Mountains . =Book, graphic novel characters=

S.D. PERRY'S NOVELIZATIONS

Characters who appear in S.D. Perry's novelizations of the games and two completely original novels: ''The Umbrella Conspiracy'', ''Caliban Cove'', ''City of the Dead'', ''Underworld'', ''Nemesis'', ''Code: Veronica'', and ''Zero Hour''.

  • Trent - An enigmatic man with seemingly limitless resources and an overabundance of confidence. He has a certain amount of pull within the Umbrella Corporation, though he is trying to destroy them through roundabout means. It is later revealed that his name is James Trenton Darius (formerly Victor Darius), and that his parents had helped develop the T-virus. He appears in several of the novels, although his first appearance was in ''The Umbrella Conspiracy''. The only novel he does not actually appear in is ''Zero Hour'', although his name comes up in a scene between Wesker and Birkin.

  • David Trapp - 30 years old, from the S.T.A.R.S. Exeter Branch, in Maine. He works hard to get the information that the team needs. David is articulate and doesn't find himself able to talk often in front of people he does not know. He traveled to Caliban Cove, with Rebecca, and a small team. After escaping from that ordeal, he then began a mission to Nevada, where they (he, Andrews and Rebecca) are joined by Leon and Claire. (''Caliban Cove'' and ''Underworld'')

  • John Andrews - A man with "muscles on his muscles". Formerly a communications expert and field scout for the Exeter S.T.A.R.S. (''Caliban Cove'' and ''Underworld'')

  • Steve Lopez - A 22-year old member of the Maine branch of S.T.A.R.S, of Hispanic descent. He serves as computer expert of the team. His interaction with Rebecca sparks a chemistry between the two. However, he does not survive the Caliban Cove mission, as he was injected with the T-Virus strain developed by Dr. Griffith and commits suicide under his command. (''Caliban Cove'')

  • Karen Driver - A 30-year-old forensic expert for the Maine branch of S.T.A.R.S. Her father was a World War II veteran and she carries a Grenade from his days of service as a good luck charm, while keeping it a secret from her comrades. She succumbs to the T-Virus during her mission in Caliban Cove. (''Caliban Cove'')

  • Dr. Nicolas Griffith - A scientist that has developed a T-Virus strain that allows zombies (known as Trisquads) to follow his every whim. He conducts his experiments in a secret laboratory located in Caliban Cove in Maine. (''Caliban Cove'')

  • Dr. Alan Kinneson - One of the scientists at Caliban Cove who was infected by Griffith's variant of the T-Virus and became one of his servants. He is shot in the head by David Trapp. (''Caliban Cove'')

  • Dr. Louis Thurman - Another one of the Caliban Cove scientists who became infected which Griffith's T-Virus variant and became one of his servants. Thurman is eaten by Karen Driver after she becomes a regular zombie. (''Caliban Cove'')

  • Dr. Tom Athens - The third Caliban Cove scientist given a dose of Griffith's virus, Tom Athens was the only one of the three who retained some semblance of his former human self such as self-awareness, unlike Kinneson and Thurman who were incapable of doing anything unless given specific instructions by Griffith. (''Caliban Cove'')

  • Beverly Harris - The daughter of Raccoon City's Mayor Devlin Harris (the novel version of Mayor Michael Warren), Beverly was placed in the care of Chief Brian Irons by the Mayor himself, but the psychotic Irons killed her instead. Although non-canon as far as the games are concerned, the novel offers one possible explanation for what exactly became of the Mayor's daughter's body after Claire returns to Irons' office: according to the book, Irons stuffs her into a cabinet in his "hobby room." This character is the first of Perry's efforts to give names to previously unnamed characters, and this could have possibly been applied to the game canon, if not for the fact that ''Resident Evil 3'' reveals that the name of Raccoon City's mayor is Warren, not Harris. In the games, the Mayor's daughter has no known first name. (''City of the Dead'')

  • Jay Reston - The director of an Umbrella facility located at Utah known as The Planet, which was built with the purpose of pitting White Umbrella's latest Bio-Organic Weapons against each other in four simulated environments (forest, desert, mountain and urban) to test their efficiency. When Rebecca and her crew infiltrates the facility, he uses the opportunity to trap Leon and Andrews inside these arenas and unleash the specimens before the actual scheduled date for the exercise. (''Underworld'')

  • Henry Cole - An electrician assigned to work for The Planet. He is betrayed by Reston and trapped within the Planet's arena along with Leon and Andrews. He helps the two find their way out of the arena with his knowledge of the facility's layout. (''Underworld'')

  • Randy Thomas - A friend of Carlos Oliveria and a member of the UBCS. He is infected with the T-Virus and turns into a zombie, and then Carlos kills him, much in the manner of Murphy Seeker. (''Nemesis'')

  • Ken Franklin - A UBCS member encountered at the hospital by Nicholai, who shoots him. The mortally wounded Franklin then tries and fails to kill Nicholai by detonating a grenade. Although he fails to kill Nicholai and also kills himself in this fashion, Franklin's actions ''did'' prevent Nicholai from killing Carlos. Ken Franklin is a renamed version of Tyrell Patrick. (''Nemesis'')

  • John Wersbowski - A member of the UBCS who is killed by Nicholai after the two are the only ones from their unit to survive a zombie attack. (''Nemesis'')

  • Dr. Mario Tica - A scientist at the Rockfort Island facility, Dr. Tica became trapped in the room where the Bandersnatches were kept following Wesker's attack on the island. He attempted to radio someone for help, but Alfred, who had disliked Tica's attitude, ignored his pleas. By the time Claire arrived at the part of the facility where Tica was, the Bandersnatches had awoken and one of them kills the scientist right before her eyes. This character represents Perry's second attempt to provide a name for an unnamed character; in ''Code: Veronica'' the game Claire does actually witness a Bandersnatch kill a scientist, but he is not identified by name. (''Code: Veronica'')

  • Dr. Paul Stoker - The head doctor of the Rockfort Island prison. He was one of the only people who be considered a friend of Alfred Ashford, since like Alfred he was a sadist who enjoyed torturing and tormenting people. He was very loyal to Alfred, and in return Alfred gave him his own fully-equipped medieval torture chamber where he could act out his sadistic fantasies on the prisoners. During Wesker's attack on the island, Stoker becomes infected with the T-Virus and becomes a zombie. He is later killed by Claire Redfield. Like Dr. Tica before him, Dr. Stoker represents an attempt by Perry to provide names for unidentified characters from the games. In this case, oddly, an enemy, since "Stoker" appears only as a zombie. ('''Code: Veronica''')

  • Bill Nyberg - An Umbrella executive. A typical middle-management bootlicker, Nyberg handles the company's end of a lawsuit filed by a family whose daughter, used as a test subject in the trial run of a new medicine, became sick. Nyberg was working on the documents of the case on board the Ecliptic Express when the train is attacked by the leeches under the control of the resurrected James Marcus. Nyberg dies in the attack. Once again, here is a character from the games who Perry gives a name. Nyberg is, apparently, meant to be the bespectacled executive on the train who sees the leeches attaching themselves to the windows. (''Zero Hour'')

WILDSTORM'S COMIC BOOK SERIES

  • Michelle Allen

A student at the Raccoon City College, Michelle came from New York City and thus was extremely desensitized when it came to criminal violence. Eventually, Stan was infected with the T-Virus and Leslie called for help with a radio, and a group of UBCS landed in the island. When they were ready to be saved, Dr. William Birkin talks to them for a short while, mocks Stan for his infections, then personally eradicates them.

  • Ace

  • Dr. Peter W. Lengle

A psychologist at the service of Umbrella, he feigned to help Barry Burton get rid of his terrible nightmares, while in fact tried to crush his evidence. He also worked in B.O.W. research.

  • Sheriff Carey

The sheriff of Saguaro Wells, a small Nevada town with a population of only 472 people. Despite his increasing worry over missing people, Sheriff Carey refused to allow the townspeople to practice frontier justice and scour the hills armed with shotguns. In disobeying him, they temporarily saved his son Wayne from a pack of vicious Night Stalkers. After Wayne, infected with the G-Virus, died, the Sheriff turned to Leon S. Kennedy for help.

  • Wayne Carey

The son of Sheriff Carey, Wayne lived in Saguaro Wells with his father. He stayed out late one evening trying to catch a stray calf, Gracie, and was attacked by the Night Stalkers, genetically engineered humanoid bats. The Night Stalkers killed Gracie and one of them bit Wayne, but he was rescued when a posse of gun-toting locals happened upon the scene and drove the monsters away. Wayne was taken to the hospital but by then it was too late. Infected with the G-Virus, he turned into a zombie and was killed.

  • Dr. Callos

A mad scientist employed by Umbrella, Dr. Callos operated out of a hidden laboratory in a cave outside of Saguaro Wells. He wanted to genetically combine humans and bats to spread the G-Virus across the world. He succeeded in creating a breed of humanoid bats called the Night Stalkers, which he controlled with an advanced sonar array. Callos died when Leon S. Kennedy disabled the sonar, and the Night Stalkers turned on Callos and his colleagues.

  • Vedley and '''Bondra'''

Vedley ad Bondra were two of Dr. Callos' assistants. Vedley was killed by the Night Stalkers after he failed to eliminate Leon S. Kennedy, and was replaced by Bondra who died later when the bat creatures turned against him and Callos.
