Liminka (''Limingo'' in Swedish ) is a Municipality in the Province of Oulu , in Finland . Founded in 1477 , Liminka is located about 25 Kilometre s south of Oulu . The population of Liminka is 6,831 (August 31, 2004) and the municipality covers an area of 643.59 km&2 (excluding sea areas) of which 4.78 km&2 is inland water (January 1, 2004). The population density is 10.1 inhabitants per km&2 (January 1, 2004). The Bay of Liminka (''Liminganlahti'' in Finnish ) is a famous bird paradise. EXTERNAL LINKS
