Prof. Em. Lauri Vaska (born 7 May 1925 ) was a young assistant professor of Chemistry at the Texas A&M University , when in the early 1960s he, in a joint article with J.W. Di Luzio , first described the Iridium compound, which has now become known as the Vaska's Complex . Vaska was born in Rakvere, Estonia and moved to the US after World War II . After a successful career on several American universities, he is now Emeritus Professor, connected to Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York and living in the area.
