Lantzville is a Coastal community on the east side of Vancouver Island , British Columbia , Canada along the western shore of Strait Of Georgia and immediately north of the City of Nanaimo , British Columbia . The District of Lantzville was incorporated on June 25th, 2003. It covers an area of 29.87 square kilometres. In the 2001 Census , Lantzville's population was recorded at 3,538. The district is almost completely residential, with some commercial buildings on the main drag, Lantzville Rd (formerly part of the Island Hwy). Lantzville was originally a mining town and is named after its American founder, Arthur Lantz. The mayor of Lantzville is Colin Haime. In addition, there is a public elementary school, Seaview Elementary, and two Anglican churches. Also, there is an Indian Reserve, on the north side of the village. Amenities in the village include a jeweller, a book publisher, a travel agency, a dentist, doctor's offices, pharmacy, corner store, etc. Lantzville is also known for the Lantzville Pub.
