HISTORY The Lake Wimico and St. Joseph Canal Company was chartered in to 1839 , eventually reaching Iola on the Apalachicola River . The company did good business hauling Cotton to St. Joseph. In ; the south end in Port St. Joe is named "Old Niles Tramroad" and the northernmost section from Wewahitchka to Iola is "Lake Grove Road". REFERENCES |
