Law 80




The LAW 80 is an Anti-tank weapon in service with the British Army . LAW stands for Light Anti-armour Weapon. It is a 94 mm High Explosive Anti Tank ( HEAT ) weapon system, portable by one person and capable of destroying armoured vehicles at distances up to 500 m. It is to be replaced by the Next Generation Light Anti-tank weapon (NLAW). In May 2002 the Main Battle Tank and Light Armour Weapon, MBT LAW , developed by Saab Bofors Dynamics, was selected to fill this requirement.

The spotting rifle from LAW 80 was used on the USMC SMAW .


ADDERMINE

Addermine is an acoustic sensor system which utilises the LAW 80 as a Kill Mechanism to create an off-route mine. It can also be command detonated from up to 200 m away.
