Key Peninsula

Wauna , Key Center , Vaughn , Home , and Longbranch . It is in the Peninsula School District ; high school age children who live here attend Peninsula High School, often referred to as being from the KP.

The Key Peninsula is often referred to as "Blue Tarp Country" because of the abundance of Mobile Homes covered with blue tarps because of their leaky roofs. Most of the population is lower middle working class.

Though the Key Peninsula is connected to Purdy and Gig Harbor via the Purdy Bridge and is generally considered the same area by Pierce County, residents of Gig Harbor try to distinguish themselves from the Key Peninsula as it is well known by locals to be an area inhabited by hicks, with old worn cars rolling into Purdy from the Key Peninsula.
