Kevin Conroy (born November 30 1955 in Westbury, New York ) is an American actor of stage, screen, and Voice , best known for his portrayal of DC Comics Superhero Batman in numerous animated series and features. Chosen from over 150 candidates, he became the voice of ''. He has received an exceptional amount of praise for his work in the role from fans and critics. Kevin Conroy was once a roommate with future Superman Christopher Reeve at Juilliard Drama School . Coincidentally, another Batman actor Val Kilmer attended the same school as Conroy. Also, Kevin Spacey , who plays Lex Luthor in '' Superman Returns '', also attended there. Before voicing Batman, he has appeared in shows such as '' Cheers , Matlock ,'' and '' Tour Of Duty ''.
