Kerala Folklore Academy is an autonomous body corporate constituted by Government of Kerala on 28th June 1995 under the Cultural Affairs Department, Government of Kerala, Trivandrum and the main study center is at Kannur . The Institution was formed under the ''Travancore Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act'' of 1955 . The institution at Kannur started functioning on 20th January 1996 . The Academy promotes most of the ritual artforms of Kerala, such as '' Kolam Thullal '', '' Garudan Hanging '', and '' Chavittu Nadakam ''. OBJECTIVES The main objectives of the Academy are:
