Bianca Lawson .
Her parents gave her up for Slayer training at a very early age. Kendra Young did not know her own surname as she studied under her
Watcher , Sam Zabuto. She was called when
Buffy Summers died at the hands of The Master in 1997. Kendra was fully versed in the Slayer Handbook and fighting techniques. She owned a trusty stake called Mr. Pointy. Her appearance was the first time the Watchers Council had been shown to identify potential slayers ("
What's My Line ").
In her first year as a Slayer, Zabuto sent Kendra to
Sunnydale after hearing a rumour that the vicious vampire Spike had come into possession of a du Lac Cross. Kendra saw Angel, an former associate of Spike's, kissing Buffy with his vampire face, and assumed that she too was a vampire — the first of many quick conclusions she would draw. Kendra imprisoned Angel in a cage to kill him by sunrise and surprised Buffy as she woke up from a night on Angel's bed. After physical contact, they learned that they were both Slayers.
Rupert Giles told them this was unprecedented. Kendra's social isolation and dedication to discipline and technique in pursuing her calling contrasted sharply with Buffy's independence. Buffy believes, however, that her emotions and friendships made her a better Slayer.
Meanwhile, Angel was taken unconscious by the bartender and sold to Spike and Drusilla. Severely weakened by sunlight, he as Drusilla's sire was to be used to return her to health. The Scooby Gang arrived to free Angel, and Kendra returned to her home country with a keepsake from Buffy.
Kendra returned in 1998 when her Watcher informed her that Acathla would open its mouth and suck the world into hell. Zabuto gave Kendra a special sword, which Kendra passed on to Buffy after surprising her as she patrolled. Kendra helped the Scooby Gang protect Willow Rosenberg while she performed the Ritual of Restoration. Drusilla and her vampire lackeys arrived in the library to stop the attempt to restore Angel's soul and after a brief fight, Drusilla hypnotized Kendra and slit her throat ("

Kendra is a
Slayer and has the basic abilities of one. In her training with
Sam Zabuto , Kendra had mastered practically every sort of weapon reliant on muscle power, such as swords, knives and axes.
