Keith George Faure is an Australian criminal from Norlane, Victoria , Australia . Faure's criminal history includes convictions for Armed Robbery , Breaking And Entering and Murder . Faure and Chopper Read continued a lengthy prison war whilst imprisoned in Melbourne 's Pentridge Prison during the 1970's and 1980's. Faure features prominently in Read's first few books. Faure was also the inspiration for the character of ''Keithy George'' in the film '' Chopper '', who is stabbed to death in the films' opening scenes. Faure was reported to be unhappy with his portrayal in the film. His brother, Leslie Faure , is currently serving a 14 year prison sentence for the murder of his girlfriend in 1997, killed during a Russian Roulette game being played by the couple {Link without Title} . EARLY LIFE Faure has been sent to trial for murder on four occasions and received only one Conviction in 2005 for the murder of Lewis Caine (also known as Sean Vincent). Faure was convicted of shooting Senior Constable Michael Pratt during a bank robbery on June 4, 1976. Later that same year, Faure was convicted of manslaughter for the killing of Shane Dennis Rowland, and again convicted of manslaughter for the killing of prisoner Alan Sopulak whilst imprisoned in Melbourne's Pentridge Prison. Both men are appealing their conviction. Caine was found dumped in a residential street in Brunswick in 2004 .
