Keep On Loving You is a Power Ballad written by Kevin Cronin and performed by his band REO Speedwagon featuring the powerful lead guitar work of Gary Richrath. It was one of many REO Speedwagon songs to become a pop hits, reaching the number one spot for one week in March 1981 in the U.S. , and peaking at number 7 in the UK . The song ushered in an era of polished radio-friendly ballads, which would dominate the '80s, when they provided an easy route to a hit for pop-metal acts. Having mastered the style, Speedwagon reclaimed the number one spot in 1984 with another power ballad, "Can't Fight This Feeling." EXTERNAL LINKS
