Sharkey professes a hatred for the Christian Supreme Being , God The Father , but claims that he has no disrespect for followers of the aforementioned. He says that this hatred began when his grandmother died. He then kicked out his wife and son, and began dating his second wife. However, Sharkey is also a Religious Pluralist and claims to have respect for all creeds, and a love of the Constitution. One of his most infamous claims is that he will impale terrorists and Pedophiles on the grounds of the State Capitol. He announced his candidacy for the governorship of Minnesota on Friday, the 13th of January, appropriately. The Vampires, Witches, and Pagans Party was founded by Sharkey in 2005. It is officially recognized by United States Federal Election Committe, although it is unclear whether it has any membership other than Sharkey himself. The Party is dedicated to the protection of the relgious beliefs and the political advancment of individuals identifying themselves as " Vampires ", " Witches ", " Pagans ", " Demons ", " Satanists ", " Wiccans ", and those professing similar alternative lifestyles. Sharkey's website claims that the VWP Party is recognized in the United Kingdom , Brazil , Ireland , and Italy . The register of political parties in the UK shows no registered party of that name In order for a party to appear on Ireland's Register of Political Parties, it must have at least 300 Irish members and at least one elected politician [http://www.oasis.gov.ie/government_in_ireland/government_and_politics_at_national_level/registering_a_political_party.html . His selection of this party name drew ire from many Twin Cities area pagans, who voiced dislike for his public persona and outlandish policy statements. He plans to run for President Of The United States in the 2008 Presidential Election . His campaign slogan is "A New Deal for Minnesota," reflecting his respect of FDR . His former companion (sometimes referred to as his wife, though they were never legally married) is Julie Carpenter. On January 31 , 2006 , Sharkey was arrested in Mora, Minnesota on two felony counts, one of escape and one of Stalking . On March 5 , 2006 , it appeared that he had faked his own death several times.
