John Taylor Bellfounders, based in Loughborough in the United Kingdom , is the world's largest working Bell Foundry . The site has a Museum of bells, the only one of its kind in the UK. Bell making has been carried out in the Loughborough area since the middle of the 14th Century and activities were consolidated under the Taylor family in 1784 . The foundry moved to its current location in 1839 . On 1 July 2005 , the company Merged with the bellhanging firm Eayre & Smith to form Taylors Eayre & Smith {Link without Title} . '' Great Paul '' of St Paul's Cathedral in London , the largest bell in Britain at 37,483 Pound s (17,002 Kg ), was cast at the foundry in 1881 . EXTERNAL LINKS |
