John Floyd (virginia Politician)

After the war, Floyd became a legislator. From 1814 to 1815 , Floyd was a member of the Virginia House Of Delegates . In 1816 , he was elected as a Republican to the United States House of Representatives, and served from March 4 , 1817 to March 3 , 1829 . He was Governor of Virginia from 1830 to 1834 . In the Presidential Election Of 1832 , while he was still governor, he received the electoral vote of South Carolina .

Floyd died near Sweetsprings in Monroe County, Virginia (now West Virginia ) and was buried in an unmarked grave there.
