It is a New Town . With all the buildings owned by the government, development is strictly controlled and carefully planned. Taipei , which is the capital of the Republic Of China , was also the capital of Taiwan province until 1956 . Since the move of the provincial government from Taipei to Jhongsing Village was done after 1949 by a government the People's Republic Of China does not regard as legitimate, the PRC publishes Taipei as the provincial capital on its official maps. |
