She was born and raised in , formed by bassist Gwynne Kahn, which did not include Pandoras' founder Paula Pierce. In 1989 , Finch joined L7 , for which she became known, playing with the band as a bass guitar player and vocalist until 1996 . She has since been involved in other musical projects, including the major label band Other Star People and a stint in Betty Blowtorch. Her latest band is called The Shocker , which played dates on the 2005 Warped Tour. The Shocker, a hard rock band is the first group containing women musicians to tour a predominately Muslim country.
