Robert A Jaffray Missionary, taught by A.B. Simpson Sent to Wuzhou, Guangxi, China in 1897 (spent 35 years there) by the Christian & Missionary Alliance Jobs held included: Mission administration, preaching, evangelistic iteneration, helped to found the Wuzhou Bible School (later called the "Alliance Seminary in Hong Kong"), editor of the Chinese "Bible Magazine", article writer for his publications, also called a "missionary strategist and statesman" Publication: "Bible Messenger" - South China Alliance Press Used this publication to send training materials to Cantonese Missionaries and then later to others in their "colloquial language versions". Quotes: "The supreme and crying need of this lost world is the gospel. Shall we not rise at Christ's command to carry the blessed saving news to every perishing one?" Notable information: Father was Robert Jaffray . Jaffray had a heart condition and diabetes. Good leadership qualities. Founded the Chinese Foreign Missionary Union. Arrested in 1942 by the Japanese, and was kept in internment camps. Died in 1945 from illness and malnutrition in one of the camps.
