Jackson is a town located in Washington County, Wisconsin . As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 3,516. The Village Of Jackson is located partially within the town. GEOGRAPHY According to the United States Census Bureau , the town has a total area of 89.0 Km&2 (34.4 Mi&2 ). 88.7 km&2 (34.2 mi&2) of it is land and 0.3 km&2 (0.1 mi&2) of it is water. The total area is 0.32% water. DEMOGRAPHICS As of the Census 2 of 2000, there were 3,516 people, 1,201 households, and 1,012 families residing in the town. The Population Density was 39.6/km&2 (102.7/mi&2). There were 1,230 housing units at an average density of 13.9/km&2 (35.9/mi&2). The racial makeup of the town was 98.95% White , 0.03% Black or African American , 0.06% Native American , 0.34% Asian , and 0.63% from two or more races. 0.34% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 1,201 households out of which 40.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 78.2% were Married Couples living together, 3.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 15.7% were non-families. 13.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.93 and the average family size was 3.22. In the town the population was spread out with 28.1% under the age of 18, 6.1% from 18 to 24, 28.8% from 25 to 44, 28.1% from 45 to 64, and 8.9% who were 65 years of age or older.
