Islamic Resistance Movement (Arabic: حركة المقاومة الإسلامية) is an insurgent group in Iraq fighting against the U.S. lead coalition forces as part of the Iraqi Insurgency . The group has a military wing known as the "20th Revolution Brigades" (Arabic: كتائب ثورة العشرين, Literally: "Brigades of the Revolution of the Twenty"). The group, previously known as the Iraqi National Islamic Resistance , was among the first groups that were formed after the occupation of Iraq, formed around August, 2003. |
