Information About

International Bible Students Association

It was founded in 1914 by Pastor Charles Taze Russell in London , England , and was the first legal representation of Pastor Russell's followers in Europe (Two Previous Such Organizations already existed in the USA ).

At that time, followers of Pastor Russell did not call themselves "Jehovah's Witnesses," rather they often referred to themselves as "Bible Students."

After the foundation of the International Bible Students Association, Pastor Russell recommended that local groups avoid using this name except at the national and international level, and advertise as " Associated Bible Students " instead.

Nowdays, groups calling themselves Bible Students that trace their heritage to Pastor Russell and reject the changes that took place after his death. Such groups are not associated with the International Bible Students Association, which is still under control of the Jehovah's Witnesses.
