An Ina Bauer is one of the most graceful elements in Figure Skating , where the skater skates on two Parallel blades - on the inside Edge of the straight trailing leg and on either the inside or outside edge of the bent leading leg. If leading leg is also straight, it is called Spread Eagle . The most flexible skaters can bend over almost completely backward. The inventor of the movement was German skater Ina Bauer . Shizuka Arakawa of Japan is famous for this move, having performed it in her gold medal-winning free skate at the 2006 Winter Olympics . |
