Information About

Ice Hockey At The 1964 Winter Olympics

MEDALISTS

¹The tie-breaking procedures for the Olympics were changed after the competition. By the previous rules, Canada was the bronze medal winner. This tournament also served as the World Championships and the ''European Championships'' for 1964. The International Ice Hockey Federation recognizes the Canadians as the 3rd place finishers for the World Championships. As of April 29th, 2005, the IIHF, international hockey's world governing body, announced it will have a ceremony later in 2005 to present the 1964 Canadian Olympic hockey team with a world championship bronze medal. Czechoslovakia will retain its Olympic bronze medal.
