PROFILE

CAREER

Ian Rotten wrestled in the GWF and on various small Indy groups in the US, usually teaming with his "brother", Axl Rotten . They entered Extreme Championship Wrestling in 1994, and in 1995 they lost a tag match against The Pitbulls, where the losing team could never team up again. For the first six months of 1995, Ian and Axl Rotten engaged in what was probably ECW 's bloodiest ever feud, which culminated in a Taipei Death Match, which saw both men tape their fists, and then glue broken glass onto their taped fists.

Ian left ECW in late 1995 over a monetary dispute with Paul Heyman , and in late 1996 he formed his own promotion, IWA Mid-South . The promotion focused on 'garbage' matches for the first four years of their existence, but began to slowly move towards a more mixed product, and now feature a wide array of styles on their cards. With the move to different styles of matches it has quickly became one of the most popular independent promotions in the US.
