Information About

Hypno-disc

A contestant entry in '' Robot Wars '', Hypno-Disc was one of the first robots to use the Flywheel weapon - a highly damaging weapon that succeeded in heavily damaging and destroying a great many robots. Hypno-Disc's design, however, was somewhat basic, and its high ground clearance made it an easy target for robots armed with flipping weapons, such as Chaos 2 .

Hypno-Disc was the creation of the Rose family — twin brothers Derek and David, and their father Ken.

Hypno-Disc was the first competitor robot recreated in toy form when the Robot Wars pullback toys were released.

NOTEWORTHY BATTLES

This is a list of battles that have been considered some of Hypno-Disc's most impressive and-or most interesting.

vs. Robogeddon.

Hypno-Disc's first battle. Robogeddon's armor weapon was disabled by Hypno-Disc's first hit, and its armor was then shredded and blown away.

vs. Stealth

Hypno-Disc's weapon blew the armor off the back, tore out the innards, and then destroyed the arm that lifted its flipper weapon. The fact that Stealth cost £20,000 to build was noted with irony as it was destroyed.

vs. 101

One of the closest battles Hypno-Disc ever fought, the judges needed to come out into the arena to examine the damage for themselves, a first in Robot Wars history at the time, before awarding victory to Hypno-Disc.

vs. Chaos 2

A quick battle ending in defeat for Hypno-Disc, exhusted from its battle with Steg-O-Saw-Us.

vs. vs. Raizer Blade vs. The Predator

Hypno-Disc literally blew the batteries out of The Predator, a lookalike of House Robot Sir Killalot , and caused damage to Razier Blade that they never recovered from.

vs. V-Max

Again, Hypno-Disc blew the batteries out of the opposition to win.

vs. Splinter

Said by the Robot Wars Ultimite Guide (which went up to Series 5) to be the most violent battle ever, Splinter attempted to deflect the lethal flywheel weapon of Hypno-Disc with its scoop located on its front. Unfortunately, the flywheel simply tore it off and then proceeded to tear into the robot to destroy the inside of it.

vs. Dominator 2

Hypno-Disc hit Dominator 2 a few times to disable one of its wheels, and then backed off to avoid further damage. This was not very popular with the audience, and although the judges ruled in favor of them, they took the care to inform the Hypno-Disc team that they considered it the most boring fight ever.
