Homiel Province or '''Gomel Province''' (''Гомельская вобласьць'' in Belarusian , ''Гомельская область'' in Russian ) is a Province ('' Voblast '') of Belarus with a center in Homiel . It covers an area of 40,400 km&2 and has a population of 1,505,400 (2004 estimate). Homiel Province and Mahiloŭ Province suffered severely after the Chornobyl Nuclear Reactor catastrophe.
