The film centers on Kevin once again, who goes to live in his dad's
Girlfriend 's
Mansion when his parents split up. Natalie and Peter break up at the end of the film. During
Christmas , he fends off two criminals (one of them is Marv) who break into the mansion--as well as a kindly servant who turns out to be the mother of one of the thieves, thus making the robbery an inside job.
- Joe Pesci is not in this movie. Daniel Stern was originally supposed to reprise his role as Marv; however, he turned down the role because he felt that it was "too insulting." Instead the character was played by French Stewart . His partner is not Harry, but a young woman. However, Marv mentions his former partner Harry (Joe Pesci) once or twice during the movie.
- The boy playing Kevin looks even younger than Culkin did in the first movie, though several years have presumably passed.
- Fans of the series were outraged by the fact that the boy playing Kevin McCallister had brown hair instead of the original Blonde. This also leading to the fact that many thought he was Alex Pruett, the main character of '' Home Alone 3 ''.
- There is one thing similar to '' Home Alone '' 3: no one believes Kevin when he reports the break-ins, just like no one believed Alex in the third film. They later apologize to Kevin when the parents arrive back at the house and see the three criminals being placed under arrest.
