Homa (in Persian هما) is a famous Iran ian Mythological Creature and Symbol in Persian Art . The symbol has an ancient history which dates back to the Achaemenid Persians . Symbols of Homa were used in the Ancient Achaemenids' masterpiece, Perspolis , on the top of the palace's columns, resembling Griffin s. Its most notable contemporary appearance is the symbol of Iran's national Airline , Iran Air , which is the animated form of the original Persepolis statues. Also Iranian people say that in the past Persians used Homa to choose kings: the person who Homa set on him became king of Persia.
