Information About

Holsworthy, New South Wales

It is most notable for a large Australian Army reserve, Holsworthy Barracks , where training missions often are carried out. This reserve however, is adjacent to the Heathcote Road (which leads to Bankstown and Liverpool ) and signs can often be seen warning potential trespassers of the use of laser guided and conventional gunfire.

It is named after Holdsworthy, which was the birthplace of Elizabeth Macquarie. It was spelt as Holdsworthy until after World War II, when the 'd' was dropped.
