GEOGRAPHY Holmen is located at 43°57'19" North, 91°15'33" West (43.955330, -91.259132). According to the United States Census Bureau , the village has a total area of 8.3 Km&2 (3.2 Mi&2 ). 8.3 km&2 (3.2 mi&2) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water. DEMOGRAPHICS As of the Census of 2000, there were 6,200 people, 2,258 households, and 1,698 families residing in the village. The Population Density was 750.4/km&2 (1,944.9/mi&2). There were 2,377 housing units at an average density of 287.7/km&2 (745.7/mi&2). The racial makeup of the village was 95.31% White , 0.31% African American , 0.32% Native American , 3.19% Asian , 0.00% Pacific Islander , 0.26% from Other Races , and 0.61% from two or more races. 0.90% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 2,258 households out of which 43.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.2% were Married Couples living together, 10.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.8% were non-families. 19.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.74 and the average family size was 3.17. In the village the population was spread out with 31.6% under the age of 18, 8.1% from 18 to 24, 33.6% from 25 to 44, 19.1% from 45 to 64, and 7.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 31 years. For every 100 females there were 97.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.1 males. The median income for a household in the village was $42,021, and the median income for a family was $49,375. Males had a median income of $33,795 versus $21,270 for females. The Per Capita Income for the village was $17,002. 7.8% of the population and 5.7% of families were below the Poverty Line . 11.6% of those under the age of 18 and 12.5% of those 65 and older were living below the poverty line.
