Information About

Hexapool

CREATOR

Hexapool was invented by Frank Casey of Melbourne , Australia . The original table was made out of scrap timber and three spare table legs, with the Felt being stretched by hand across the table. The prototype is currently owned by a relative of Casey and resides in her house where it is used frequently for meals and playing.

HEXAPOOL

Although Hexapool was created as a revolutionary new way to play pool, it was not received by the public as such, but rather as a Novelty . A recent adoption of Hexapool, albeit modified, is Zone Ball . One lasting feature of Hexapool is the top which allowed it to be used as a table, for both dining and playing cards. This is so as the removable wood table tops originally distributed with the Hexapool table had felt on one side and varnished timber on the other.

PRODUCTION

It is believed that only a few thousand tables were produced, yet Hexapool tables can still be purchased today from a retailer, Prime Leisure based in India.
