Lord Anglesey was M.P. (Whig) for Anglesey between 1820 and 1832 and State Steward to the Lord Lieutenant Of Ireland between 1828 and 1829. He was also a Lord-in-Waiting to Queen Victoria between 1837 and 1839 and invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1839. Lord Anglesey was later Lord Chamberlain between 1839 and 1841 and Lord Lieutenant Of Anglesey between 1854 and 1869. He married, firstly, Eleanora Campbell, grand-daughter of John Campbell, 5th Duke Of Argyll , on 5 August 1819 . They had three children:
He married, secondly, Henrietta Bagot, daughter of Charles Bagot , on 27 August 1833 . They had four children:
