He was wounded by Munich Police as he carried the flag during the Beer Hall Putsch on November 9 , 1923 . He never fully recovered from his wounds, and although entrusted again with the Blood Flag after the Nazi Party had reformed itself in 1925, he eventually ceded his duties to Jakob Grimminger due to his health. |
