Founded in 1894 by Ellen Knox and named after Frances Ridley Havergal , the school has many prominent alumni. Havergal College is known for its excellence in education and tradition.

Susan Ditchburn is headmaster. The school currently upholds the motto: ''“Preparing young women to make a difference in her chosen pursuit by enabling each girl to develop her full intellectual, creative, spiritual and physical potential.”''

INTERESTING FACTS

  • The book "The Wives of Bath" by Susan Swan and its subsequent movie "Lost and Delirious", starring Mischa Barton and Piper Perabo , were loosely based on the author's experience as a boarder in Havergal College.
